Two Used
In t-tests, when do I used a two-sided as opposed to a one-sided?
I am trying to figure out why some of the problems use two-sided t-tests while some use one-sided t-test. How do you decided which one to use? Does two-sided mean you can have to outcomes such as the population increased or decreased while one-sided only tests whether the population increased (leaving out the idea that it could decrease)??
It is all down to the nature of the alternative hypothesis.
Do results either way better explain the situation than the null hypothesis or only results one way?
Examples will probably explain it better.
1. Does drug improve proportion of patients recovering from illness. Clearly only a higher proportion will validate use of the drug so this is a one-tailed test.
2. Last election 40% supported party A. Has proportion changed since then? Higher or lower results will confirm changed allegiance so this is a two-tailed test.

How much money do you think two slightly used love sacs will sell for?
SO I have two love sacs one is generic and one is from the love sac company. The 'real' one is a super sac,fits three people, and the other one is slightly smaller and fits maybe two people. I dunno I see some people can get like 300 for the original ones and maybe 200 for the generic when they are used......but year what do you think I should price them at? I should set the price high obviously so I have some haggle room.
I definitely think that you should start both of them at 250-300 dollars. Those love sacs are great, and if you start it that high and go a little lower, the customer will still be getting a good price. Good luck!

I have a 1930's Gravely walk behind tractor in good condition, I want to know its estimated worth.?
The body/chassis is in good condition with mild oxidization but no actual rust. Body is solid with no brittleness. All parts working and original engine in great shape. Looks 20 years old, after 73 years. Fortunately I live in Alaska and the atmospheric humidity is very high in PH so there is very little to no acidity in our rain water and it tends to keep things from rusting and has allowed this little gem to stay in great shape for close to 80 years. I want to know an estimated range that it would go for, even at auction, in bad, decent, good and great condition so I have a general idea of what to look for in selling it.
