Hacking Metro PCS Motorola w315 to make a Data Call. Help! Says "Call Failed. Date Service Unavailable".
I have a Metro PCS Motorola w315. I just bought it. I want to use the phone as a modem. I have looked in the forums and I know how to access my programming menu on my phone and I know how to find and use my Subsidy Code . I have done both with no problem. I have a data cable from an alltel store #MDASM14 . I have loaded the drivers and plugged in the phone/. It attempts to makle a data call then it reads "Call Failed. Date Service Unavailable." I am using AOL to dial out and I am including the area code when doing so. I have the $45 a month plan.
I used to have a nextel phone. Used that as a modem no problem. I am guessing maybe some extra software to configure the phone and maybe different drivers would make this work.
Please help me on how I can get this to work. Web Browser will not work either. I need this to work soon because i need to connect for business. If its a 56k connection, thats fine. I just need to connect. Is there a faster option, such as tapping into evdo?
The # to dial out to the phone is "#777". The username is "your area code phone number no hyphens@mymetropcs.com". The password is "mymetropcs".

Dial: #777
These should be the settings for your DUN(dial up network). Make sure you have "obtain ip address" and "dns server" selected to automatic. The dial up server you are calling should be "PPP". Make sure your phone is listed as a modem in Hardware Manager and that your phone is connected. Then open Internet Explorer, go to the Tools menu, Internet Options, Connections tab. Once there, make sure you've selected the dial-up connection from the list and click the Settings button. Check the box for Use a proxy server for this connection and enter "wap.metropcs.net" in the address box and 3128 in the port box.

Dating as a Single Parent: Online Dating Safety
Why has online dating for single parents gone through the roof? Mainly because there are so many things to juggle such as sleepovers, visitations, schedules and more. Then we have the costs of pursuing the potential partner. I'll stop there because just those points alone explain why online dating for single parents is here to stay.
However, just as with dating in the real world, there are very real safety issues that you should consider before embarking on a cyberspace romance with your new soul mate. You may well be a responsible parent, but that does not make you immune to internet dangers. Follow these sensible precautions to ensure you find yourself an online romance and not a cyber stalker:
* Phone numbers. There is a very good reason why dating sites recommend not giving out your phone number too soon. Depending on where you live, vast amounts of information can be obtained from your phone number. If the friendship goes belly up do you really want to have to change your numbers because you are being annoyed by some deranged stalker? Do you want them annoying you at work? Be honest, would you hand over your telephone number to a complete stranger you weren't sure of in a bar? At least you have actually seen first hand the stranger in the bar.
* Financial situation. If you are wealthy, lucky you. Don't go advertising it while online dating though. Just like the real world there are also plenty of other single parents who would like to hook up with some extra cash. Be careful what you divulge. Careless details about expensive vacations and similar may well be giving away too many clues initially. Do you want to be liked for you or for your cash? There are plenty of unscrupulous individuals masquerading as singles who are looking to prey on singles with money.
* Personal details. Beware revealing your strett address and phone number too earlier in communications. A sensible potential partner will understand. If you live in a small town be wary of inadvertently mentioning you work for the baker or live in the lilac shingled house. It won't be too hard for the other person to suss you out if they wanted to.
* Protect your children. Sadly, there are some pedophiles out there pretending to be single dads and moms to prey on your children. The fact that you are a single parent is enough information to start with. Be a little gender and age non specific when mentioning your children. You should become a little suspicious if there is more interest in your kids than you and it doesn't matter how many children you have. Do not provide any photos of your children.
* First date safety. Just like your mother told you when you first started dating "Don't be getting in any cars with strangers." Just because you may see yourself as a parent first and foremost does not make you immune to dangerous strangers. When meeting up with new dates, do so in well lit public and busy places. Lunches can be good. Tell someone where you are going and with whom. Be sure to have a contingency plan in case your date turns out to resemble the motel owner from "Psycho". Trust your instincts. If they creep you out, move on politely and quickly.
* Read the fine print. As with anything else you purchase over the Net, it is always a sensible idea to read the small print. Are there monthly fees? What do you actually get for your money? Will it cost you more to contact those you fancy? Is the dating site reputable? Using a credit card with legitimate sites is no more dangerous than using it in a retail store. There is information stating that today, it's safer? Do your homework before handing over the plastic.
Single parent online dating can be an effective way for single moms and dads to meet a new partner. That siad, safety practice is not only important to you but you children too.

Can putting a Smaller Fuel Filter than the Original one on my car cause occasional Hard Starts and extra Noise?
I did put a Smaller one on. I notice the Fuel Pump is a little louder than it used to be. AND sometimes the car "Starts and Dies" once or Twice before running.
Runs fine, though.
Could this be why?

At this point, many of the band's long-polarized fan base probably guessed what might come next, but few really believed they'd actually come face to face with that which they had longed for over so many years…well, careful what you wish for. Just kidding. Luckily for all involved, Faith Divides Us -- Death Unites Us comes across not as a white flag of acquiescent apology for questionable career choices but as a proudly borne ensign backed up by a steady stream of skillfully realized anthems of sublime despondency -- "As Horizons End," "First Light," "Last Regret," the title cut, etc. -- too strong in their own right to be dismissed as self-plagiarism on any level. So are there exceptions to the musical templates established of old? Very few, verging on nonexistent, but they include Nick Holmes' reaching for unprecedented higher registers on "I Remain"; the guitar harmonics punctuating the energetic "Frailty"; the nearly stoner rock'n'doom of "Universal Dream"; and the lingering electronic fireflies hovering just beyond sight (but you know they're there) on portions of the album closer, "In Truth." All of which supports the level of fan excitement surrounding Faith Divides Us -- Death Unites Us and asks the next question: could a full-fledged devolution into the primal dirge of the band's formative death/doom origins be next? Which is more sacred: The United States flag or the Holy Koran?
How may we determine which is more holy? The U S flag is left out overnight, all throughout the land, in the smog, rain and snow, the Koran is kept in the most secure and clean spots on the earth.

Do Police in general Support 2nd Adm Rights to own guns?
I realize there maybe many views on the right to own guns, so I'm asking (if you are a cop) if you support a mans right to own fire arms?
My View:
1. I was raised around guns all my life including 4 years in the military
and enjoy them and I feel proud to own them as an American.
2. I do NOT favor fully auto weapons (Ak-47's etc) to be in the hands of any Tom-Dick & Harry that walks into Wal*Mart and throws down $500
and walks out with enough fire power to cut down telephone poles.
3. Back-Ground Checks............YOU better believe it!! I support that 10000% If you believe that a back-ground check violates your rights I would say that's a small price to pay to keep guns out of the hands of thugs and crooks.

I'm a cop and I am VERY much in support of the 2nd Amendment, and furthermore, every law enforcement officer that I know supports the 2nd Amendment. Read law enforcement periodicals and you will see most are in favor of citizens rights to have guns. It actually makes my job easier when good, law-abiding citizens are armed because anyone who has been in law enforcement very long at all knows that guns deter crimes when possessed by potential victims. I am very much in favor of stripping felons and violent criminals of this right, but every law-abiding man and woman should be allowed the right to arm themselves.
