As you are riding your bike away from a 11 m flagpole at 6m/s and as you pass the base of the pole, the flag s?
As you are riding your bike away from a 11 m flagpole at 6m/s and as you pass the base of the pole, the flag starts dropping at the rate of 3m/s. How fast is your distance from the flag is changing if you are 12 m away from the pole?
Let your distance from the pole = x(t)
the height of the flag = y(t)
and your distance from the flag = D(t)
If you are 12 m from the pole and riding at 6 m/s, then you passed the pole 12 m/(6 m/s) = 2 s earlier. If the flag starts dropping at 3 m/s when you pass the pole, then when you are 12 m (or 2 s) past the pole, the flag has dropped 3 m/s * 2 s = 6m. If the flagpole is 11 m high then the flag has dropped to (11 - 6) m = 5 m.
The rate at which your distance from the flag is changing = dD/dt
= ∂D/∂x dx/dt + ∂D/∂y dy/dt.
D = sqrt(x^2 + y^2)
∂D/∂x = x/sqrt(x^2 + y^2) = 12/sqrt(12^2 + 5^2) = 12/13

Flag Poles And Country Banners - India
The national flag of India can be seen flying from all kinds of different flagpoles throughout the world, including around building and non building type constructions such as embassies and consulates, sport events, etc.!
A substantial amount of international flags are considered tricolor flags. Meaning, that they display three (not always different) colors through 3 horizontal or vertical bands, which in most cases are of a similar size. The Indian flag displays three colors, from top to bottom: saffron, white and green.
The national Indian flag was first adopted officially and displayed during the 1940-s. Ever since this time period it has been displayed (proudly) from all kinds of flag poles throughout the country of India as well as the rest of the world. Interestingly, and like other national flags, its design was based on another flag or banner that already was in existence, namely the flag that represented the Indian National Congress.
It was during that same year (of 1947) that the so called "British Indian Empire" was dissolved. Following this event, the Muslim-majority areas were partitioned to form an individual state, also commonly known as "Pakistan" in our day. During January of 1950, India became a republic and subsequently a new constitution came into effect under which India was established as democratic state.
Interestingly, the design as well as the production process of the national flag of India is governed by the 3 documents, issued by the Bureau of Indian Standards or commonly referred to as BIS. All banners for use with flag poles and such are produced from "khadi" cloth of silk or cotton. These standards were first created back in 1968 and last optimized in 2008.
Like other national flags and banners, usage and such is governed by guidelines and laws. The Flag Code of India initially prohibited the use of the national banner by private citizens except on national holidays, which includes the Independence Day of this beautiful country. Since 2002 however, citizens are allowed to fly the flag from flag poles and such throughout India. This decision came following an appeal that was made to the Supreme Court by a private citizen, to change the Flag Code to allow citizens to display and fly the national flag. Additional changes were made subsequently in the years following.

Taking a poll: Did you know the proper way to dispose of an American flag is to burn it?
Section 8k of the Flag Code states, "The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning." We recommend that you contact your local VFW Chapter and ask them for help properly disposing of your flag. And be sure to consider providing a small donation to them for their assistance. Or you can contact your local Elks Lodge (who created the idea of Flag Day, established officially by President Truman, himself a member of the Elks), the American Legion, or the Knights of Columbus. Some Boy Scout and Girl Scout troups also can provide this service.
I still have the small flag I carried in the "Nam & it's got my blood & the blood of some of my brothers on it. It's pretty faded & ragged & when my time comes, we'll burn together.

Patriotic American Flag Tattoos
is it illegal to bring my country's flag to the USA?
i am going there to study for about five years and i will be alone there. i can't live abroad without my namibian flag, it inspires me everyday i looks at it and helps to not to forget my motherland. it will also reminds me of everything about my country and encourages me in other ways to focus on what i have to do. my dad told me when i was Young that i should be patriotic and proud of my country because it is where i was born and there are those who sacrificed their lives to liberate our country.
i am not gonna fly it in the campus or something, just put it in my room. is it illegal there?
i am not gonna disrespect the USA flags in any way and i will not care about haters cos i am a mentally strong guy. to those who are saying i should just stay in my country, it is a shame to you that you can't just answer the damn question straight, i thought democracy means doing whatever you want as long as you don't go against the laws? that is the reason i asked if it is legal or not..
Flying any any flag you want is covered under the First Amendment (freedom of speech). So please bring it! The U.S. Constitution protects everyone here, even those here for school or vacation (even illegal aliens). I think you should fly it and tell people about it and your country. Just be respectful of the U.S. flag, (personally I would suggest flying your flag and the U.S. flag together, most people will like it, don't fly yours above ours, fly them at the same level, if you want to show your patriotism, put your flag to the right of the U.S. flag, that is the place of honor, but if they are at the same level it would not be disrespectful to the U.S. flag). Most Americans respect patriotism, I admire yours for your country!
PS I wasn't implying that you would show disrespect for the U.S. flag (I hope you didn't take my comment that way), I just wanted to point out proper flag etiquette (most Americans don't know it, so I would have done the same if someone asked about their state flag or an organizational flag, although in those cases I would not have advised to put those flags to the right of the U.S. flag). And as for the people who say stay in your country - these are the same people who complain that the rest of the world hates the U.S., I guess they don't realize that people coming here for education helps the world to understand us not hate us.
