Summer Seasonal Garden
Are these plants suitable for an arid climate with little rainfall?
I bought some plant seeds for a garden-lover but they asked for cacti and seasonal flowering plants (ones that would suit a dry/arid climate, hot summers, cool-ish winters (not snowy, just in the 5o's F at night) and relatively low amounts of rainfall?
Also, I was looking through the labels and saw "perrenials" and "annuals," but I wasn't sure what season the perrenials were suited for?
Here are the seeds I bought:
COLUMBINE - (Dragonfly hybrids - Perrenial)
ALYSSUM - (Royal Carpet - Annual)
MARIGOLD - (Dwarf Bolero - Annual)
DAHLIA - (Victorian Mix - Annual)
FOXGLOVE - (Digitalis - Biennial or Perrenial)
DELPHINIUM - ("Blue Bird" - Perrenial)
CARDINAL CLIMBER - (Vine - Annual)
CACTUS - (Mixed Varieties - Perrenial)
And if anyone is good with flowers, could you recommend some nice ones that would suit the above climate?

A recipe for a TRADITIONAL Italian Pizza?
So in school Im doing a project about Italy and I want to make a traditional Italian Pizza, so does anyone out there know a traditional recipe? If you do could you please give me instructions for cooking as well?
REAL Italian pizza is nothing like what we have here in America so here is an authentic recipe.
Sicilian Pizza Recipe
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
In Sicily they do not often use cheese in their pizza recipes and the toppings, particularly the herbs, are baked directly on top of the pizza dough. The Sicilians use a lot of olives and a flavored paste called a tapenade which can be used as a dip or as a topping for the Sicilian pizza. To make tapanade, olives are stoned then minced in a pestle and mortar and then pepper, basil, sage and thyme are added.
Palermo, the capital of Sicily, is awash with fresh sardines and surprisingly the most popular pizza topping is fresh sardines. If you cannot get fresh sardines, canned can be used, but it gives a completely different taste and texture. Add canned sardines at the last minute as they need only to be heated.

Ingredients Required

1 Basic pizza dough recipe
3/4 pound fresh sardines, cleaned and gutted with, heads, tails and backbone removed
Sea salt for dredging
1 pound plum tomatoes, peeled, seeded and chopped
1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil plus 1 tablespoon
1 medium onion, chopped
1/2 pound young mild Caciocavallo or Provolone cheese, diced or sliced
Step by Step Procedure
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Prepare the pizza dough
Wash the sardines and roll in the salt
Cut up the tomatoes and place in a colander to drain for about 1 hour
In a large pan, heat 1/2 cup olive oil over medium heat, then sauté the onion until it is translucent
Reduce the heat to low, add the tomatoes, and simmer for thirty minutes stirring occasionally
Add half the sardines and take off the heat immediately
Preheat the oven to 425°F
Roll out the dough to an eighth of an inch thick and lay it in a lightly oiled pizza pan
Using half the tomato sauce and all the cheese, cover each pizza and bake 20 minutes
Add the rest of the sauce and place the remaining sardines on top radiating outwards like the spokes of a wheel.
Serve immediately

What are the benefits of using a cast iron skillet?
One thing I hate about cheap skillets (which is all I have right now) is how the food sticks like glue to the bottom. Also, my potatoes in my Potatoes O'Brien don't brown right. I'm thinking of getting a cast iron skillet from Lodge.
I prefer cast iron skillets for cooking. They seem to cook more evenly and seem to get better with age.
Plus it is great for whacking intruders with in the middle of the night!

how do you keep cast iron from rusting?
I have a cast iron bowl that I use to add moisture into the air when using my cast iron stove. However, the bowl keeps rusting. Is there anything I can apply to the bowl to keep this from happening?
if you don't eat or drink from it, seal it with RustSeal by KBS Coatings. The KBS system sampler kit for $16 is a good deal. RustSeal is a non porous coating so water will not enter the metal again and rust will not reoccur. Rust Seal comes in some diff colors too.

How long does it usually take to press african american hair with a marcel iron?
Im going to beauty school n clients dont usually want a student that isnt black to work with their hair cause they say we dont know their hair.... what is a good average time to take while pressing their hair wit a marcel iron???? What are other things I should know about african american hair to make sure I satisfy black clients??

The main thing w/ afro american hair is moisture moisture moisture. Deep conditioning once a week is a MUST w/ a moisturizing conditioner and then ever 2.5 months use a protein treatment. Using a marcel iron should take the same amount of time as using a pressing comb, except you should only use two passes tops. african american hair is the dryest of all of the hair types so using heat appliances just makes it dryer. limit heat styling if you can on your clients.

I think it is Morimoto, the rest are just T.V. personalities. The new iron Chef doesn't have the same talent level. What do you think?
Good point brought up....how is Cat Cora an Iron chef? She loses almost every battle!
I totally agree that it is Morimoto also, he is the BEST. He takes his food seriously. He has a restaurant in Philly that I am dying to try out. My next favorite is Bobby Flay because I like his style of cooking and it is the closest to the way I cook from the other IRON chefs. As for the newest guy, he should not have won. The second place guy, John Besh, seems to be be much talented.
I also agree aobut Cat Cora, can't imagine her staying on too much longer. Her stats show 13 wins, 10 loses.
